After graduating from Emory University, Scott began his career as an Anesthesiolgist Assistant at Crawford Long Hospital in Atlanta , Georgia in l989. He and three friends formed a rock band "November November" in l990. This is when he first experimented with songwriting. After the band broke up, Scott tried his hand at writing country songs. After he had accumulated a handful of songs he befriended Nashville producer Neal James who encouraged Scott to travel to Nashville to record his material. Scott made several trips to Nashville and recorded with some of Nashville’s most celebrated studio musicians.
The result is Scott's debut CD "Dedicated Man".
Neal pitched Scott's project to many major labels in Nashville resulting in 2 international single releases by Emerald Worldsound Distributors.
Although Scott never landed a record deal, he continues to enjoy writing and recording his songs.
In 2004, Comstock Records released Dedicated Man to radio stations in 14 European countries. Though Scott never reached the official European CMA charts, his songs did reach the top 20 in many of the 14 nations.
Dedicated Man appeared on independent country music chart Roots Music Report for over 50 weeks.
Over the last two years, Scott has released 5 songs on Triplestrand Productions compilation CD's and has received over 6,000 spins in America and around the world.
In May 2007, Scott befriended country music superstar Kevin Sharp ("Nobody Knows," "She's Sure Taking It Well") at a performance at The Christ Hospital in Cincinnati, Ohio. As a fan of Kevin's music, Scott looks forward to any musical opportunities he and Kevin might develop some day.
In February 2008, Scott befriended singer/songwriter and Hank Williams Sr. tribute artist David Church. David is regular performer on RFD-TV's "Midwest Country."
Scott is planning to return to the recording studio in September 2008 to record his second CD of original tunes tentatively titled, "Many Years From Now." Since the release of "Dedicated Man," Scott has written approximately 20 songs and wishes to record the majority of them for this new project.
Scott's wife Kristen and their three children serve as inspiration for many of Scott's songs. He is completely committed to his family and is thankful to God for the immeasurable blessings they bring to his life.
Scott is appearing live this summer at Harmony Hill Vineyards in Bethel, Ohio.
